Salary: Between £45,000-£55,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Location: Kiln Way, Swadlincote, DE11 8EA
Responsibilities
 * Strategic Leadership: Develop, lead, and implement a proactive HSE strategy for the site, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all health, safety, and environmental practices.
 * Policy & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain effective health and safety policies and procedures that align with legal and business requirements. Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation and insurance warranties.
 * Advisory and Audits: Be the expert for all HSE matters, provide advice on legislation and best practices. Ensure legal compliance and readiness for all internal and external audits working with the Compliance Officer. Maintaining detailed records of incidents, inspections, training, and audits.
 * Operational Management: Oversee all on-site HSE operations, including COSHH assessments, and site inspections. Conduct detailed accident investigations, ensuring all corrective actions are implemented and followed through.
 * Risk & Incident Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and lead incident investigations. Identify root causes and lead implementation of corrective actions ensuring emergency response plans are relevant and fit for purpose.
 * Training and Development: Create HSE training plans for all departments, ensuring all employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely.
 * Monitoring and Reporting: Manage specialised surveys for noise and dust, and coordinate medical monitoring with Occupational Health. Keep the site updated on all HSE legislation and communicate procedural changes effectively.
 * Stakeholder Reporting: Measure, monitor and report on the company safety performance, report findings and recommendations to company directors.
Qualifications
 * NEBOSH and IOSH qualification.
 * Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
 * Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
 * Proven experience in a similar HSE leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
 * Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
 * Track record of delivering training and driving cultural change in safety practices.
 * Strong IT literacy and meticulous record-keeping skills.
Full UK driving license as travel to sites will be required.
