Based at the Bickerstaffe Offices, this flexible locum position is available on both a full-time and part-time basis. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, and Friday until 4:30pm. In this role, you will contribute significantly to improving the lives of adults and young people with learning disabilities by completing Care Act Assessments and reviews. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed assessments and reviews under the Care Act 2014 in line with departmental policies. Lead or participate in safeguarding procedures, including investigations where required. Work collaboratively with carers, internal teams, and external agencies to deliver outcome-based support plans. Ensure adherence to statutory, departmental, and professional standards. Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records using the council's IT systems. Actively participate in supervision sessions, team meetings, and reflective practice discussions. Essential Qualifications and Requirements A recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., Degree in Social Work or DipSW). Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Demonstrated experience working with adults with learning disabilities and managing complex care packages. Sound understanding and application of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
