Overview
This post is a senior clinician position within the neurology department’s metabolic medicine service, responsible for assessment, clinical treatment, and consultation across the full spectrum of inherited metabolic disorders.
Team Structure
The role joins a multidisciplinary team that includes four Metabolic Medicine Consultants, specialist dietitians, specialist nurses, a dedicated pharmacist, a specialist physiotherapist, and a research physiotherapist. Managerial support is provided by a Support Manager, Lead Manager, Senior Operational Manager, and Clinical Director.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and clinical treatment for inherited metabolic disorders.
* Consult and collaborate on complex cases, often partnering with other agencies and other adult IMD team members.
* Engage in seven planned activities per week, comprising clinical work, CPD, management duties, audit, teaching, educational supervision, research, or special interest projects.
* Workload is closely monitored by team managers and supervisors to ensure equity of case mix.
