Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting SEN and SEMH Teaching Assistants for full-time roles starting in September across a range of specialist primary and secondary schools.
We are seeking dedicated individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN and/or SEMH
Assist with managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Help pupils engage with their learning in a safe and inclusive environment
Follow individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
You must be:
Available full-time (Monday to Friday, term time) from September
Patient, calm, and resilient – able to build positive relationships
Passionate about working with children with additional needs
Willing to work across primary and/or secondary SEN/SEMH settings
Comfortable supporting personal care and sensory needs if required
Ideal but not essential:
Experience working in SEN or SEMH settings
Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation training
Knowledge of autism, trauma-informed approaches, or emotional support work
A relevant TA qualification or psychology/education background

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
