Bench Hand Joiner / Upholsterer Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 7:30am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week) Location: Wakefield Employment Type: Full-time Salary: £ 26,000 to £28,080 Role Overview We are seeking a Bench Hand Joiner / Upholsterer to join a production team. The role involves working at the bench to assemble frames, cut and prepare timber, glue and pin components, and carry out upholstery tasks. You will be using a variety of hand tools, a jigsaw, and other workshop equipment to produce high-quality finished products. Key Responsibilities * Assemble frames accurately using timber, glue, and fixings. * Cut and prepare timber to required specifications. * Use hand tools and a jigsaw safely and effectively. * Carry out pinning, gluing, and other joinery processes. * Assist with upholstery work, including preparing and fitting covers where required (full training provided) * Inspect work to ensure products meet quality standards. * Maintain a tidy and safe work environment. * Follow health & safety procedures at all times. Requirements * Previous experience in bench joinery and/or upholstery (essential). * Skilled in using hand tools, jigsaws, and other woodworking equipment. * Good practical ability and attention to detail. * Ability to work from instructions and technical drawings. * Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
