Maintenance Engineer (Contract)
Hours
8:00 am – 4:00 pm (occasionally required to cover 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm)
Salary
£20–£30 per hour, PAYE + Holidays
Location
Flint area – commutable from South Wirral, Deeside, Wrexham, Chester and Holywell.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain engineering stores and parts.
* Conduct reactive maintenance and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) work.
* Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in production machinery such as bearings, shafts, rollers, pneumatics, check weighers, flow wrappers, metal detectors, conveyors, and cutting machinery.
* Work closely with other engineers on site to manage workloads and drive continual improvement of the PM system.
* Flexible and proactive in managing own workload.
Required Experience & Skills
* Apprentice trained in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ideally HNC level.
* Strong manufacturing background in reactive and PPM work.
* Solid all‑round mechanical engineering experience covering bearings, shafts, rollers, pneumatics, and other production machinery.
* Some electrical fault‑finding skills.
* Experience working with check weighers, flow wrappers, metal detectors, conveyors, and cutting machinery.
* Capability to manage own workload and collaborate with other engineers.
