Role: Technical Officer – Food and Safety Team – 2 Posts
Salary: Grade G £33,143 – £36,363 a year (pending pay award)
Location: Council House
Hours: 37 hours a week

What you’ll experience
From day one, you’ll be involved in:
• Supporting food hygiene inspections and investigations.
• Helping businesses understand and meet their legal requirements.
• Assisting with complaints, sampling and compliance monitoring.
• Learning directly from qualified Environmental Health Officer’s.
Every day will be varied; it will be real work that makes a difference.

• Work (or have worked) in the food sector at a supervisory level and want to progress.

What You’ll Need
• GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grades 9–4 / A**–C in English, Maths and a Science.
• Willingness and ability to complete at least a Level 4 qualification.
• Experience dealing with the public and/or businesses, including complaints.
• An understanding of regulatory or enforcement processes.
• A full driving licence and access to a car.
• The physical capability to carry out inspections (a genuine occupational requirement).
Most importantly, you should bring enthusiasm, approachability, strong communication skills and a desire to make a difference.
