Job Description
Our client, a fast-growing multi-site business, is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to support their finance function. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant who can deliver high-quality reporting, manage complex accounting areas, and drive improvements.
Role Overview
* Ownership of goodwill accounting, including calculations, postings and reconciliations.
* Support acquisition accounting activities, including hive-ups.
* Prepare adjustments between US GAAP and FRS 102 and maintain clear technical documentation.
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, offering guidance to junior team members.
* Provide technical accounting support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
* Support internal controls, governance, and process improvement initiatives.
* Assist with automation projects and respond to external audit queries.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified accountant (minimum 5 years PQE).
* Strong experience in technical accounting within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
* Proven ability to resolve complex financial issues and deliver reporting to tight deadlines.
* High-quality balance sheet reconciliation experience.
* Excellent communication skills, able to summarise complex information for non-financial stakeholders.
* Strong IT skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Desirable: US GAAP knowledge; experience in retail, medical, or other specialist sectors.
