* Reporting to: Associate Director Curriculum
* Salary: £29,565 - £42,172 per annum
* Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays
* Contractual hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks
* Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum
* Basis: Full time, Permanent
* Pension: Teachers Pension Scheme
What You’ll Be Doing
* Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students.
* Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
* Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
* Plan and deliver a suitable Assessment Programme ensuring marked work meets Middlesbrough College Gold Standards.
* Implement Middlesbrough College’s Core Values through the Taking Teaching Higher strategy.
* Utilise diagnostic assessment tools to identify learning strengths and needs of every student, on a regular basis, for the purpose of intervention and/or acceleration toward academic achievement.
* Participate in Interval Verification requirements including the preparation for Awarding Body visits.
* Take necessary and reasonable precautions to assure safety in the classroom and the College for all students.
What We’re Looking For
* To be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.
* To be a qualified assessor or willing to work towards.
* To hold a minimum of a Level 5 in Mechanical Engineering
* GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.

Salary Scale
* The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. Thesalary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
Targeted Retention Scheme
You could be eligible for a Targeted Retention Incentive payment. FE staff who have been employed in the sector for less than five years and teach in courses such as building and construction, chemistry, computing (including digital and ICT), early years, engineering and manufacturing (including transport engineering and electronics), maths, or physics could be eligible for an incentive payment.
