Job Overview
Join a leading material handling business as an organized and proactive Service Controller in Melksham. This role involves supporting a field service operation by coordinating engineers, planning workloads, booking repairs, and ensuring excellent service delivery for customers.
Responsibilities
* Plan and schedule engineers’ daily workloads and diaries
* Coordinate breakdowns, servicing, and repair appointments
* Liaise with customers regarding service updates and bookings
* Ensure engineers are fully utilised and workloads are managed efficiently
* Support the service department with administration and job coordination
* Raise job cards and manage service documentation
* Work closely with engineers and management to maintain service standards
* Prioritise urgent repairs and respond effectively to changing demands
Qualifications
* Previous experience in service coordination or engineer planning
* Experience working in a dealership, automotive, engineering, fleet, plant, or forklift environment
* Strong diary management and scheduling skills
* Excellent customer service and communication abilities
* Good administrative and IT skills
* The ability to multitask and prioritise workloads effectively
* A calm and organised approach in a fast‑paced environment
