**Join us at Cheshunt on Thursday 17th July @ 10am** for a community litter pick that’s all about making a difference!
We will **meet by Pindar Car Park** (what3words: edits.stored.sketch) for a briefing and then will head out along the towpath collecting rubbish. By coming along to this event, you are playing an important role in preserving these spaces for our wildlife and local community.
All tools and equipment will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing for the weather.
This event is a great opportunity to get involved, meet new people, and make a difference.
We hold Litter Picks at Cheshunt on the 3rd Thursday of every month, so if you can't make this one, no worries — we hope to see you in August!
Why we want you
The Drop-in Role is all about getting a taste of volunteering at the Trust, joining us at your leisure to take part in one of our Welcome Sessions, Let’s volunteering opportunities, or, if you’re joining us for the first time, this would be a great opportunity to get involved.
We have a host of easy-to-access volunteer opportunities that will help make a huge impact on your local canal without requiring prior experience.
What you will be doing
1. One-off taster events including our Welcome Sessions
2. Litter Picking
3. Let’s activities on the water and on the towpath
4. When you register as a volunteer, we will ask you about any unspent convictions which you need to declare and risk assess these as needed.
The skills you need
This role is specifically planned without a need for skills or training. As a result of joining it, you’ll find out about other roles where training may be needed or provided to help build your skills. No formal skills required.
What's in it for you
The opportunity to decide if volunteering with the Trust is the right place for you, as these activities are typically short and one-off.
