Offer description

Position Overview

An established multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Associate / Associate Director level Project Manager to support the continued growth of its project delivery and advisory capability. This is a senior appointment for an experienced professional who can lead major instructions, manage key client relationships, contribute to business development activity, and support the growth of a high-performing regional team.

This opportunity would suit a commercially minded project manager with strong consultancy experience and a track record of delivering schemes across a broad range of sectors. The successful candidate will be expected to combine hands-on project leadership with team mentoring, market engagement and the ability to identify opportunities for repeat and new business.

Role Scope

The role will involve taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from initial brief through to completion and post-completion stages. Commissions are likely to span multiple sectors and may include commercial office, industrial and logistics, retail, mixed-use, residential, hospitality, healthcare, life sciences, education, public sector, infrastructure-related and specialist fit-out projects.

The successful individual will work as part of a wider consultancy platform alongside professionals across cost management, building surveying, engineering, sustainability, technical due diligence and related advisory services. The position offers genuine scope to shape client strategy, influence service delivery standards and play an active role in the development of a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead projects through all stages, including feasibility, briefing, procurement, design coordination, delivery, handover and close-out.
* Prepare and oversee reports, programmes, fee proposals, tender documentation, appointment scopes and other key project management deliverables.
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, strong advice and consistent service throughout each commission.
* Support strategic account management and contribute to business generation through networking, bids, presentations, relationship building and market engagement.
* Work closely with senior leaders to expand service lines, strengthen regional market presence and identify opportunities across existing and new sectors.
* Mentor junior and mid-level team members, supporting professional development, technical growth and strong team collaboration.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have a strong background in consultancy-led project management and be confident operating at Senior Associate / Associate Director level, or be able to demonstrate readiness to step into such a role. Experience of leading complex projects across several sectors within the built environment is essential, with the ability to manage both delivery and client interface responsibilities at a senior level.

A strong regional network would be beneficial, alongside an understanding of local market conditions, stakeholder expectations and project delivery routes. Professional accreditation such as MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or similar would be advantageous, although relevant experience and demonstrable leadership capability are equally important.

Culture And Working Environment

The business offers a collaborative and flexible working environment, with hybrid working available where role and project requirements allow. The culture is likely to appeal to individuals who value autonomy, teamwork, entrepreneurial thinking and the opportunity to help shape a growing service offering within a broader professional consultancy context.

This role is particularly well suited to someone who wants more visibility, influence and progression than may be available in a more rigid corporate structure.

Salary And Benefits

A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered, aligned to experience, level and overall market value. In addition to base salary, the package is expected to include a pension contribution of 5%, healthcare-related cover, life assurance, annual leave between 25-30 days DOE, a Double annual bonus opportunity and a range of additional benefits focused on wellbeing, travel, flexibility and lifestyle support.

Opportunity Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious senior project management professional seeking a visible leadership role within a respected consultancy environment. The position offers the chance to lead diverse projects, broaden sector exposure, deepen client relationships and make a meaningful contribution to the ongoing growth of a regional or national project management business.
