Gas Compliance Officer at BOXT
Location: Leeds Office - On site
This is a fundamental role to support our ambition to continually grow the business.
Job purpose
In a Gas compliance role at BOXT, you will be confident and knowledgeable in implementing and managing gas safety plans, assessing and reviewing the competence of gas engineers, and investigating any incidents when required. The role sits within the audit team and will also involve auditing some of our installations to ensure they are compliant with current regulations and manufacturer standards. You will have excellent communication skills and provide guidance and support to all departments within the business in gas compliance and audit.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate records and an audit trail of compliance data
* Ensure compliance is met to gas safety regulations
* Monitor and assess performances of gas contractors and in-house engineers
* Review and update internal/external gas work processes to ensure they continue to meet legal and safety standards
* Provide advice on gas regulations, procedures and policies. Keep up to date with changes in legislation and communicate this internally
* Investigate gas related incidents and non-compliance issues. Provide detailed reports of findings and recommendations
* Communicate with external regulators and bodies where necessary
* Assist in the delivery of training and awareness on gas compliance
* Offer technical support to other departments e.g., Complaints and aftercare
* Carry out desktop audits on all completed installations looking for any compliance issues that may require the engineer to re-attend if the job is not 100% compliant
* Update BOXT admin platform regularly to ensure all recommendations, technical knowledge and information is recorded for each job
* Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Driven to deliver a quality service and good customer outcomes
* Able to work well under pressure
* Have excellent Customer Service Skills
* Be a supportive team player and detail oriented
* Computer literate
* Any other duties which may be required from time to time by the Management Team and Board of Directors
Experience and Qualifications
* ACS Qualifications (CCN1 & CENWAT essential)
* Other qualifications (unvented hot water, LPG, other appliances) desired
* A minimum of 5 years gas experience (installation, repair, service of domestic gas boilers)
* Previous experience in gas compliance is desired
* GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
* Full UK driving licence
