Job Summary
The Activities Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in care homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. This position involves planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of seniors, including those requiring dementia care. The Activities Coordinator will foster a vibrant community atmosphere while ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and capabilities of residents.
* Coordinate with care staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities.
* Facilitate group and individual activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather feedback on activities.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance and resident engagement in activities.
* Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enrich the community experience.
* Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations within the care environment.
* Provide training and support to staff members involved in activity facilitation.
Skills
* Strong communication skills to engage effectively with seniors, families, and team members.
* Experience or knowledge in senior care, particularly in dementia care settings.
