Overview

Are you looking for a rewarding role that will allow you to utilise your current skills to influence, support and encourage others to build a future? We are recruiting an Employment Adviser to join our team. You will provide advice and support to guide and encourage participants to overcome barriers to employment and achieve realistic job goals. You will manage a caseload, act as their coach and mentor, and be the primary trusted contact to build strong positive relationships, guide, motivate, challenge, encourage and help customers obtain sustainable employment. Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be target driven and a motivational adviser. You will have initiative and motivation with the ability to seek solutions to problems and work under pressure, with limited day-to-day supervision. We are looking for someone who can provide first-class customer service and contribute to empowering lives and improving communities.


Responsibilities

* Provide advice and support to guide participants to overcome barriers to employment and achieve realistic job goals.
* Manage a caseload of participants and guide their journey to employment.
* Be the coach, mentor and primary contact to build strong relationships and motivate customers.
* Organise and conduct job-search activities.
* Identify potential barriers to employment.
* Ensure all paper-based employability tools (covering letters, CVs, speculative letters) are in place.


Skills and Experience

* Essential – A good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical locations.
* Basic knowledge of self-employment.
* Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes.
* Experience of working in a target-driven environment.
* Experience of delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards.


Desirable

* Knowledge of the employability industry.
* Knowledge of the recruitment industry.
* Experience of working with people in the provision of information, advice & guidance.

Location, Hours and Salary

Location: This is an office-based role, working in Swindon.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Salary: £26,500 to £29,545 per annum (dependent on experience).
