Overview
Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer in Scarborough, is looking for a Welder Helper to start immediately.
Shift: 8:30 am-5 pm (Monday to Friday)
Location: Scarborough, ON (McNicoll & Markham)
Responsibilities
* Assisted welders in welding of steel components based on specifications.
* Grinding, drilling and deburring as requested.
* Assemble items as instructed by welders.
* Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
* Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment manually (up to 40lbs).
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* At least one year’s experience in manufacturing, particularly metal fabrication.
* Experience with grinding, drilling and deburring is required.
* Knowledge of machines and tools
* Ability to identify and measure material
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Demonstrated a professional, positive attitude and possesses a strong, dependable work ethic.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of health and safety principles and applications in the welding shop/workplace.
