Exciting Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant Role
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire (SG8 Area)
Hours: 08:30am - 16:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to children with diverse learning needs, including personal care and following detailed care plans. Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care: Assist with personal care needs where required, including helping with feeding, dressing, and toileting, ensuring the students' comfort and dignity at all times.

Supporting Learning: Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, adapting lessons and resources to meet their individual needs.

Care Plans: Follow individual care and learning plans, ensuring students' health, safety, and development needs are met.

Therapeutic Support: Assist with sensory learning activities, providing therapeutic interventions to help children with emotional and sensory regulation.

Behavioural Support: Implement behavioural strategies as directed by teachers and specialists, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Developing Communication: Support students with communication difficulties through Makaton and other communication strategies.

Onboarding and Training:

Lego Therapy: A fun, structured way to promote social and communication skills.

Sensory Learning: Tailored activities to support sensory development and regulation.

Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Learn how to develop and implement tailored learning strategies.

Makaton: A key tool for communication with children who have limited verbal skills, helping them to express themselves.
