Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Tamworth
Commutable from: Nuneaton, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Atherstone
Salary: £38,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday 07:45 - 16:30 (flexibility available)

The Role
This role sits within the engineering team and focuses on electrical controls design, development and support for special purpose automation and materials handling equipment.
Employ a good level of knowledge in the concept, design and build of complex electro-mechanical systems
Produce electrical designs that meet cost targets, project schedules and requirement specifications
Design electrical systems and control panels to relevant standards and customer specifications
Consider reliability, ease of assembly and serviceability within designs
Support fault finding and root cause analysis during design, build, commissioning and support phases
Use EPLAN Electric P8 for schematic design and generation of manufacturing drawings and documentation including bills of materials
Apply knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Support identification of standard assemblies to improve efficiency
Keep up to date with UK, European and international legislation
Create documentation including technical risk assessments, recommended spares and maintenance requirements
About You
Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3 years electrical design engineering experience
Experience designing electro-mechanical systems within industrial, automotive or aerospace environments
Strong understanding of system level design including reliability and maintenance
Proficient in EPLAN Electric P8
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders
Ability to produce technical documentation and reports
Competent with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with sales and design teams to support projects
Communicate design choices and progress across project teams
Interact with subcontractors and suppliers
Contribute to internal and external design reviews
Support concept generation and detailed design
Complete assigned tasks to agreed schedules and report progress
