About the Role
As an Autism Support Worker, you will provide targeted support to pupils with autism and additional learning needs. You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, support classroom activities, and help maintain a calm and inclusive environment. Your contribution will have a direct impact on pupils’ learning, development, and overall school experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and additional SEN needs.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual pupil requirements.
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.
* Help implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and track progress.
* Assist with personal care needs when required, maintaining dignity and sensitivity.
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and confidence.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience supporting children with autism or additional learning needs.
* Understanding of child development, behaviour management, and communication strategies.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff.
* Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
* Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
