Your new role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with SEMH and ASD. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to deliver tailored interventions and create a positive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
2. Managing challenging behaviours using de-escalation strategies
3. Promoting emotional regulation and social skills
4. Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning plans (EHCPs)
5. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience working with ASD and/or SEMH needs (education, care, or youth work)
7. A calm, resilient, and patient approach
8. Strong behaviour management skills
9. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
10. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
