As a Manager in Supplier Quality Engineering, your day is dynamic and impactful. You lead your team in assessing supplier capabilities and ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy standards. Engaging with suppliers and commodity managers, you facilitate early involvement in product development, fostering collaboration across global teams. Throughout the day, you oversee the resolution of quality issues, guide your team in conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions, monitor supplier performance, coordinate acceptability assessments and communicate risks to ensure effective mitigation strategies.
How You’ll Make An Impact
* Supplier Qualification and Auditing: Lead a multi‑functional team in assessing and auditing supplier capabilities to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy standards.
* Product and Process Qualifications: Direct teams in executing Product and Process Qualifications (PPQ), providing guidance to suppliers in adhering to Siemens Energy’s Quality Management Process and tools.
* Supplier Quality Supervision: Oversee supplier quality performance, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and initiating quality improvement programs and risk mitigation strategies.
* Early Supplier Involvement and Collaboration: Facilitate early engagement with suppliers during the product development process, collaborating closely with the global supplier quality team, international partners, and internal stakeholders.
* Monitoring and Communication: Continuously monitor and report on supplier quality performance, coordinate component acceptability assessments, and effectively communicate risks to ensure timely mitigation and improvement efforts.
What You Bring
* Technical and Engineering Expertise: A robust background in Engineering, R&D, or Production Technology with additional experience in machining, castings, coatings, forgings, or welding.
* Holistic Supply Chain Management: Comprehensive understanding of supply chain dynamics, ability to prioritize critical issues and ensure seamless operations.
* Quality and Risk Management Proficiency: Expertise in quality methodologies (5 Whys, FMEA, 8D, RCA) and risk management, focusing on product functionality, delivery, cost and resource constraints.
* Interpersonal and Cultural Competence: Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse international teams, promoting cultural understanding and collaboration.
* Commitment and Willingness to Travel: Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, structured work habits and readiness to travel as required for the role.
