Role Information The school is seeking a committed, patient, and proactive Pastoral Support Officer to join their experienced pastoral team. Key responsibilities include: Providing daily support for students experiencing behavioural, emotional, social, or academic challenges Working closely with Heads of Year on behaviour interventions, pastoral plans, and restorative conversations Meeting parents/carers to discuss concerns and develop support strategies Monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour logs, and welfare concerns Delivering small-group or 1:1 pastoral interventions (e.g., self-esteem, resilience, behaviour support) Recording actions, interventions, and safeguarding concerns accurately using school systems Supporting reintegration meetings after exclusions or prolonged absence Liaising with the safeguarding team, SENCO, counsellors, and external support agencies Supporting the supervision of unstructured times such as break and lunch Contributing to pastoral briefings, year team meetings, and early help processes This role requires a calm, caring, and professional individual who can build positive relationships with young people.
