Job responsibilities Service Delivery To improve children and young peoples mental health through the delivery of safe, culturally competent, effective, cost efficient, timely and accessible services that are in accordance with national and local priorities and responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people, and their families. To be part of an Early Help package of care and take a key role in eating disorder assessments and coordinating the next stages of care planning. This will include the assessment of physical risk and prioritising the urgency of ongoing treatment. The practitioner is expected to manage their own caseload of patients, as well as being part of a wider systemic therapeutic team. The practitioner will be expected to offer support to parents, carers and the wider family system, some of which maybe mealtime support within the family home. The post holder will be expected to competently liaise with other professionals involved in care including Psychiatry, Paediatrics, General Practice and Dieticians. To regularly use Routine Outcome Monitoring as part of clinical practice To practice safely around the physical risks associated with eating disorders using MEED guidelines. The Eating Disorder Practitioner will provide specialist and culturally competent mental health assessment, formulation, and implementation of specific evidenced based treatments. The post holder will be expected to draw upon experience and knowledge gained through training and practice relating to child development, child and adolescent mental health and adult mental health. The Eating Disorder Practitioner will demonstrate effective skills in the assessment of risk and communicate concerns accurately in a timely fashion, which may require multi-agency responses to risk assessment and risk management plans. The Eating Disorder Practitioner is required to maintain high standards in the recording of clinical activity. The Eating Disorder Practitioner will strongly adhere to culturally competent and anti-discriminatory practice, promote equity of opportunity, and use their professional position to empower others and challenge power imbalances where they are found to exist. The Eating Disorder Practitioner will provide consultation to staff in the wider CAMHS Service and other agencies. The post holder will contribute to the eating disorder Duty Rota which operates daily, Monday to Friday. The post holder will be required to contribute to the delivery of education and training to other professionals, including continuing professional development within the MDT. The post holder will be available for and make use of clinical supervision, safeguarding supervision and case load management. The post holder will be expected to offer supervision to others as appropriate to their grade. The post holder will need to organise their own workload under the support and supervision of Clinical Pathway Manager Maintain health records to the standards required by Livewell Southwest. Contribute to the development of team protocols and clinical practice, proposing changes for discussion. Participate in team meetings, for example allocation, supervision, reflective practice, case discussions. Keep up to date with CAMHS & Eating Disorders developments taking place nationally in line with service objectives. To participate in audit and quality improvements. Corporate and Other Responsibilities To undertake other duties in a corporate role as may be reasonably expected in accordance with the grade of the post and in line with other Senior Practitioners to ensure the attainment of team and service objectives. To attend continued professional development meeting facilitated by the Senior Clinical Team. To ensure that all duties within the role are delivered in accordance with Livewell Southwest policy and procedure and professional registration practice.
