About the Role
A Band 6 Occupational Therapist in our community adult mental health service will provide specialist assessment and treatment to service users with mental health conditions. This is a key role in shaping our community mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to the individual's diagnosis and needs.
* Manage a diverse caseload and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams including CPNs, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Employment Specialists and Non-Medical Prescribers.
* Utilise the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) assessments and receive support and training in this model.
* Involve in service development and quality improvement projects, supporting OT pathways, community partnerships and peer support services.
* Contribute to the wider Occupational Therapy Community in Derbyshire Healthcare, including CPD events, practice development and workforce development.
* Support recruitment of staff and development of support staff.
* Provide specialist OT clinical advice on assessment and intervention of client occupational and functional needs.
* Plan, implement and evaluate OT interventions using evidence‑based, client‑centred recovery principles.
* Assess and prescribe assistive equipment as required.
* Develop collaborative partnership working with external partners such as CCGs, voluntary sector, social care, education and employment services.
* Facilitate recovery‑focused group work internally and with partner organisations.
* Provide supervision and support to fellow OT team members.
* Support and develop student placements and preceptorship programmes for newly qualified OTs.
