We’re supporting a specialist primary setting in Gateshead that works with pupils who’ve had a tough time in education-often due to trauma, unmet needs, or complex behaviour. As a SEND TA, you’ll be right at the heart of that. Working alongside a dedicated team, you’ll help pupils settle, engage, and build routines that feel safe and manageable. Your job? What the role involves: 1:1 and small group support for children with SEMH and SEND Encouraging pupils to regulate emotions, follow routines, and re-engage with learning Supporting personal development, social interaction, and classroom transitions Working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to keep support joined-up You’ll need: Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour A calm, consistent approach and the ability to defuse tricky moments Strong communication skills and confidence working as part of a close-knit team Not yet Thrive-trained?
