Finance Assistant - Education Salary £28,000 - £32,000

Office Based Role
A group of school in West London are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team in Brentford. You'll handle various tasks including sales ledger maintenance, invoicing, interacting with parents for fee collection, managing Early Years Funding, and more.
Duties include:
Undertake aspects of preparing, maintaining and communicating reliable financial information
Prepare and produce termly invoices
Act as school lead for the Early Years Funding Scheme
Calculate and process monthly and termly direct debit collections
Communicate with current and future parents re fee payments, responding to queries as appropriate
Administration of processing and certifying of purchase invoices received for payment & filing
Reconciling supplier statements to ensure all liabilities have been recorded
Be a contact for general finance queries and to liaise with parents, suppliers and contractors as required
Ensure the completion of month end procedures
Manage balance sheet areas such as fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments
Ensure that processes to manage the end of the school year activity are in place and adhered to joiners and leavers are processed and their deposits refunded
Assist the Group Finance Manager with the annual accounts and supporting schedules for audit and liaising with auditors as requiredExperience required:
2 years experience sales ledger, credit control or purchase ledger role - in education is highly desirable in schools or nursery but not essential
Bookkeeping or AAT qualification
Knowledge of systems ISAMS or MY School Portal - desirable
Experience of SAGE 200 or other accounting systems
Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word
Numerate with strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Demonstrate understanding of confidentiality, stays calm under pressure and working with minimum supervision
Strong interpersonal skills with children and parents
Will need to be DBS clearedBenefits:

Hours of work: 8.30am -5.00pm
