Overview

Activity Co-ordinator – ARB00H3 at Arbrook House, 36 Copsem Lane, Esher, Surrey KT10 9HE. Salary £12.60 per hour. Permanent contract.

An activity co-ordinator in our care home is like the chief fun officer. They create a vibrant, joy-filled atmosphere for our residents by dreaming up exciting events and hobbies that residents will love, such as arts and crafts, baking, book clubs, and pub quizzes. They work closely with residents and care teams to create tailored activity plans. From gentle chair-based exercise to garden parties, they bring people together for laughter, camaraderie and shared experiences. Activities are both enjoyable and therapeutic, including meditation and wellbeing classes to boost residents’ spirits and wellbeing.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

* Running morning and afternoon activity sessions.
* Producing and updating an activity planner for the home, working to a set activities budget.
* Organising birthday surprises for our residents.
* Liaising with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out/events at the home.
* Organising one-to-ones with residents, which might involve reminiscing tools, puzzles, reading or simply a cup of tea and a chat.
* Supporting the home with their social media channels as required.


Key Skills / Qualifications

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: You’re a creative thinker with plenty of ideas who can also manage budgets and maintain paperwork, effectively prioritising as they arise. You’re interested in caring for others, bring your sense of humour, and have an infectious enthusiasm for making people’s lives better.
