Quantity Surveyor - Required for my client in their Leeds office for an Initially a 6 month contract with view at exdending to perm. The successful candidate will have experience as a Quantity Surveyor, from within a contracting environment either in Civil Engineering or Rail background.
Quantity Surveyor Position Overview
1. Manage a fast paced, high volume turnover of orders, with high standards of project performance and customer satisfaction
2. Commercial Responsibility for Multiple projects
3. Provide advice to the commercial team/project staff on site on commercial and contractual matters including reviewing and drafting of correspondence
4. Supply relevant commercial information/reports.
5. Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements
6. Ensure all contract correspondence is recorded and logged
7. Help to develop client relationships
8. Attend all commercial meetings internal/external relevant to multiple projects
9. Oversee/monitor contract costs against agreed budgets and monitor the use of cost and financial reporting systems
10. Carry out monthly/periodic financial reviews (CVR's) on multiple projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin
11. Assist with tenders, both in terms of formulating and review.
Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements
12. HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying/ RICS or CES equivalent
13. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience working within a contracting environment
14. The ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised
15. General knowledge of NEC forms of contract
16. Experience within the rail sector would be advantageous
17. Strong analytical skills and able to identify trends
18. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders
19. High attention to detail
