We are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager – ‘Asphalt to Go’ to join and support our fantastic Asphalt team across the South East region. As the Sales Manager - 'Asphalt to Go', you will have worked in a similar industry in either internal or external sales. This is a key role in our commercial team with responsibility for ensuring delivery of collect asphalt targets alongside associated Ulti products. You will work in a cross-functional engagement capacity with operational, commercial, and marketing teams to drive the best customer experience and financial results, taking a regional lead in differentiating Tarmac’s collect business from competitors with our product range, asset base, and technical solutions.
Main Responsibilities
As the Sales Manager - 'Asphalt to Go', your day-to-day responsibilities will include (not exhaustive):
* Developing Tarmac’s relationships with targeted Local Authorities and external contractors to increase sales of high-margin VAP & Collect products
* Promoting targeted VAP and achieving customer account targets
* Delivering financial and value-added product targets set by the business and regional management
* Supporting Major Project Managers in regional bid and tender processes
* Ensuring customer satisfaction and managing accounts effectively
* Completing account plans to high standards to support customer development and improve OTIFIC performance
* Collaborating with commercial, technical, and operational teams to implement the regional Asphalt 2 Go strategy
* Achieving commercial targets aligned with excellence expectations
* Building and maintaining relationships with internal teams, customers, and colleagues
Key Stakeholders: Commercial Director, Regional Commercial teams, Technical teams, Operational teams, Centres of Excellence, Key Customers, Industry Bodies
The Ideal Candidate
Experience required:
* Commercial and solution sales experience
* Previous sales experience in asphalt, aggregate, RMX, concrete, or heavy materials environment (beneficial)
* Knowledge of production processes (not essential)
* Strong computer skills, including SAP, Excel, or similar platforms
Skills desirable:
* Customer relationship management
* Stakeholder influencing
* Presentation and communication skills
The role is based at our Tarmac Colchester Office, accessible from nearby areas including Colchester, Tiptree, West Mersea, and others.
