I'm looking for a Marketing Manager to take full ownership of marketing activity for this highly respected, premium whisky business. This is a stand-alone role offering genuine autonomy, variety and influence, working closely with senior leadership and international colleagues to drive brand growth and sales.
This role would suit someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and rolling their sleeves up, and who is comfortable being the go-to person for everything from brand planning to digital delivery.
The Opportunity
As Marketing Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering consumer, trade and digital marketing activity across multiple markets. You'll play a key role in shaping brand positioning, supporting sales growth and identifying new opportunities for the portfolio.
You'll work closely with the Managing Director, internal stakeholders, distributors and external partners, as well as collaborating with international colleagues to ensure local activity aligns with wider group strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
Marketing Strategy & Planning
Conduct market research to understand consumer behaviour, trends, competitor activity and growth opportunities
Identify new promotional strategies and potential market niches for premium whisky brands
Develop and deliver annual consumer and trade marketing plans, aligned to commercial objectives
Own and manage marketing budgets, ensuring activity is delivered on time and within budget
Brand & Trade Marketing
Build brand awareness and support revenue growth through targeted consumer and trade activity
Plan and deliver trade marketing initiatives including activations, POS, events and distributor support
Work closely with sales and commercial partners to ensure marketing activity drives results
Identify new brand and route-to-market opportunities
Digital Marketing
Lead all digital marketing activity including website management, SEO, email and social media
Develop and manage content plans that reflect brand positioning and engage target audiences
Monitor and optimise digital performance using insight and analytics
Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all channels
Campaign Delivery & Reporting
Deliver integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution
Manage relationships with agencies, designers, freelancers and other suppliers
Measure and evaluate campaign performance, presenting insight and results to senior management
Use data and insight to continually improve marketing effectiveness
Collaboration & Communication
Liaise with international colleagues to align local marketing activity with group strategy
Work collaboratively across the business to support product launches and commercial priorities
Confidently present ideas, plans and results to senior stakeholders
Bring forward new and creative ideas to increase awareness, engagement and sales
What We're Looking For
Essential
Proven experience in a marketing role, ideally within FMCG, drinks, spirits or a premium consumer brand
Strong understanding of consumer and trade marketing
Hands-on experience across digital marketing, including SEO and social media
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Commercial mindset with experience managing budgets and measuring ROI
Clear, confident communicator with strong influencing skills
Desirable
Experience working with international markets or distributors
Knowledge of the whisky or premium spirits category
Experience in a small business or stand-alone marketing role
