Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Ballet Teacher to lead ballet classes for children and young people of varying ages and abilities. The successful candidate will develop students' technical proficiency, musicality, and performance skills while creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver structured ballet classes that progress students' technique and artistry.
* Teach classical ballet techniques, barre work, centre exercises, and repertoire.
* Prepare students for examinations, performances, and showcases.
* Provide constructive feedback to support student development.
* Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
* Collaborate with other teachers and staff for cross-disciplinary or performance projects.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Professional training in classical ballet.
* Experience teaching ballet to children and young people.
* Strong technical knowledge of classical ballet techniques and repertoire.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students while maintaining discipline and focus.
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices.
Desirable:
* Teaching qualification or certification (e.g., RAD, ISTD, or equivalent).
* Experience preparing students for ballet exams or competitions.
* Background in choreography, performance, or professional ballet experience.
* First Aid and Safeguarding certifications.
