This role is based within Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and is a full-time position working 36 hours per week.
You will earn a competitive salary of £33,732.26 to £41,972.91 pro rata and have access to a range of benefits including local and national discounts for supermarkets, restaurants, and retail.
An exciting opportunity to join the Access and Mobile Devices Team (AMD), Technical and Hosting team in BTS, carrying out Application packaging/deployment, fault diagnosis and resolution.
You will play a key role in Application packaging using such tools as Microsoft Intune, PowerShell, App-V and SCCM.
Key responsibilities will include:-
1. Investigating software/solutions meet Council standards, do not have legacy requirements or obvious security risks and ensuring terms and conditions are met (liaising with ‘Security & Compliance’ and ‘Suppliers, Capacity & Configuration’ teams)
2. Investigating / Implementing solutions such as Application Management, User rights restrictions, Software Packaging technologies and assisting other teams to implement solutions/replacements for solutions
3. Packaging complex software/solutions and establishing best method for access/deployment (Microsoft Intune/MSIX/AppX/SCCM). Training and escalation route / assistance for other staff in team for packaging.
4. Investigating and resolving software deployment and access issues.
5. Writing and reviewing reports and management/solution documentation (. DPIA’s, Technical Solution Overviews (TSO), work instructions, Known Error Records (KER)).
6. Microsoft Group Policy changes.
7. Call Management using Axios Assyst ITSM platform.
The Person
Educated to SCQF level 7 which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent vocational accreditation in a computing / systems or related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience in the design and use of IT solutions and tools that meet business needs.
Ability to demonstrate app packaging techniques and problem solving.
Experience in the production of good documentation complying with all BTS and Council policies.
Working knowledge of the Change Authority Board (CAB) process and TDA (Technical design Authority) and TSO (Technical Solution Overview) documents and SARG (Solution Assurance Review Group) processes.
Requires the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and work independently as needed, depending on the nature of the tasks.
