Aspiring Clinical Psychologist – Learning Support Assistant Oxford – Education and Training

Ready to kick-start your journey to clinical psychology? This is your chance to gain essential hands-on experience working in an Outstanding SEN school in Oxford—supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and emotional regulation challenges.

This role is ideal for Psychology graduates looking to move into clinical psychology, educational psychology, child and adolescent mental health, social work, or therapy.

Why This Role Is a Game-Changer for Aspiring Psychologists:

1. Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils aged 4–11.

2. Collaborate with therapists, SENCOs, and teachers using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.

3. Support the development of communication, emotional regulation, and resilience.

4. Observe and apply strategies rooted in child psychology and behaviour.

5. Build the real-world experience needed for Assistant Psychologist roles and Doctorate applications.

You’ll Love This If You Are:

6. A recent Psychology graduate (or have a related qualification).

7. Empathetic, proactive, and passionate about neurodiversity and mental health.

8. Eager to learn from educational psychologists, SALTs, and behaviour specialists.

9. Interested in working in schools that nurture emotional wellbeing over rigid academics.

10. Experience is a bonus—but full training is provided.

What’s In It For You?

11. A full-time, paid role in a purpose-driven SEN school.

12. Direct exposure to ASD, ADHD, sensory needs, and SEMH support.

13. Incredible CPD and insights to supercharge your psychology career path.

14. Trial days available this summer—get started before September.
