ITM Power – Senior Quality Engineer

ITM Power is at the forefront of the green hydrogen industry, designing and manufacturing cutting‑edge PEM electrolysers that play a key role in global decarbonisation. We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our high‑value, medium‑volume manufacturing operation.
What we’re looking for
Proactive, highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer with strong problem‑solving skills, continuous improvement experience and a passion for quality.
Responsibilities
* Lead complex root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes using structured problem‑solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, DMAIC).
* Develop, refine, and implement quality plans, inspection procedures, and control methods to support medium‑volume production runs of high‑value products.
* Oversee product quality during manufacturing, ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
* Act as a key resource for troubleshooting and resolving quality issues both on the production floor and in the field.
* Drive continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving yields, and enhancing process capability.
* Mentor, coach, and train junior quality engineers and inspectors to enhance their technical skills and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Conduct regular quality audits, lead supplier quality management efforts, and manage customer quality concerns and audits.
* Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of quality records, reports, and data analysis to support traceability and compliance.
* Communicate quality performance and improvement plans effectively with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or HNC in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
* 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a high‑value, medium‑volume manufacturing environment.
* Proven expertise in structured problem‑solving techniques and quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, 8D).
* Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers or quality technicians.
* Strong knowledge of quality standards and systems such as ISO 9001.
* Proficiency with quality tools and software: FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, statistical analysis (Minitab or similar).
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
