The job itself
The section is looking for a pensions professional with the vision and enthusiasm to take the East Riding Pension Fund forward. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of staff within the Member Services team and providing guidance and support to staff as required.
The team
East Riding Pension Fund, based in Goole, administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for the four unitary Authorities in the region (East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire), plus over 340 other local employers and organisations. It has a membership of more than 130,000 active, deferred and pensioner members.
The candidate
As a Senior Pensions Officer in our Member Services team, you will have the opportunity to build managerial experience and will assist the Principal Pensions Officer with the effective management, development and improvement of the Pensions Section and their staff. You will have significant experience in local government pensions and practice and will be responsible for helping to lead the Member Services team to deliver a high-quality pensions administration service.
The pensions section strives to provide a high level of customer service and the post requires someone who is comfortable working under pressure in a busy section that is committed to ensuring that targets and deadlines are met. Applicants must be able to work as part of a team and should have excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
Applicants will need to show commitment and be confident to take a lead and be able to initiate and follow through changes to working practices.
