CONTRACT TYPE: 7M FTC (Could be extended, not guaranteed). 2 days a week, Weekend working (Friday 7-hour day & Saturday 5am - 1pm).
DEPARTMENT: BBC Radio Norfolk, Sussex, Cambridge, Essex
LOCATION: Office Base is Norwich - The Forum. Office-based role.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,300 - £37,300 pro rata depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Job Purpose
BBC Radio Norfolk is looking for a creative and quick-thinking Journalist to join our programme team, specifically our regional Saturday Breakfast Show which broadcasts to Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex. We seek a programme producer with a wealth of ideas, unafraid to try new and ambitious concepts, and who maintains high standards as an on-air producer.
This role involves setting up and live-producing a four-county Saturday Breakfast show that energizes listeners for the weekend, is attention-grabbing, and memorable. You should have creative ideas, a diverse toolbox of techniques, and be skilled at energizing a presenter in a live studio environment.

Your Skills And Experience / Essential Criteria
* Experience in pre-production and live studio production
* Proven ability to produce content and source guests within a programme brief
* Knowledge and experience of dira, Startrack, preferably in a regional environment
* Strong editorial decision-making skills and knowing when to escalate issues
* Problem-solving abilities
* Technical knowledge of BBC local radio systems including IMI Social, Bionic Studio, and studio operation
Desired But Not Required
* Experience working across multiple regional radio stations
* Knowledge of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and/or Essex
