Job Summary
We have an exciting new opportunity to welcome a clinical pharmacist to our innovative and progressive Hampshire Hospitals Pharmacy team to support surgical directorate which includes the new ICs collaboration in the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre (HOC). This is a unique role in which you can develop your specialist skillset and advance your clinical skills.
Responsibilities
* As a specialist Pharmacist, you will spend time in a patient facing role working within surgical services and the HOC to support the clinical service.
* You will gain experience and training to enhance your advanced clinical skills and non-clinical skills.
* The successful candidate will be provided with the support of the HOC and Pharmacy teams, opportunities to develop and embed their careers, and to make a difference to patients' lives.
* To support the development and delivery of the Clinical Pharmacy Service to surgical services including the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre (HOC), with responsibility for staff management in line with pharmacy objectives set by the Associate Director of Pharmacy, Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Line manager.
* Collaborate with the Lead Pharmacist for Surgery to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient service for all patients of the services.
* Provide medicines optimisation service to the surgical division at specialist level, focusing on the HOC.
* Act as an independent non-medical prescriber, in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act 2001, specialising in an area of choice relevant to the surgical division.
* Manage staff to ensure effective operation of the services provided to the speciality on behalf of the Lead Surgical Pharmacist.
* Joint responsibility with the other specialist and clinical pharmacists for overall delivery of the clinical pharmacy service to surgical services and orthopaedics under the supervision of the Lead Surgical Pharmacist.
Person Specification
Training and Qualifications
* Essential: GPHC registration, Certificate in Pharmacy Practice.
* Desirable: Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice, Educational Supervisor, Management and Leadership Training, Independent prescriber.
Experience & Knowledge
* Essential: Work in a hospital clinical pharmacy environment, NHS management experience.
* Desirable: Postgraduate E&T provision, Project management experience, Experience of Consultant ward rounds.
Skills and Ability
* Essential: Work as part of a MDT, Ability to organise self and others, Good computer and keyboard skills, Professional presentation of self, Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
Employment Details
Band: Band 7
Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 a year per annum
