Salary: £30,188 - £34,452 (pro-rated for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Job Summary

This role is to join our Integrated Pupil Support Team as a kind, caring and passionate Pupil Support Officer. The Integrated Support Team provides a safe and welcoming approach where positive relationships and trauma-informed practices help young people achieve their potential. The focus will be on developing social, emotional and communication skills alongside support to access the academic curriculum. Happy to talk flexible working.
Responsibilities
* Build trusting relationships with children and their families.
* Support learners who face barriers to their learning and/or require support with attendance and wellbeing due to poverty.
* Lead on supporting children with additional support needs.
* Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to embed social, emotional and communication skills into the curriculum.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced PSAs from secondary or primary, or with demonstrable experience working with children with additional support needs.
* Demonstrated ability to work with children and families in a supportive and trauma-informed environment.
Training and Development
All successful candidates will receive training and support to help them carry out their role.
Legal and Safety Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required - you will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
