The starting salary for this role is £61,954 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. This is a 12 month secondment opportunity.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our fantastic Forensic Social Care Team as a Team Manager. This team is a specialist forensic social care mental health team who work closely alongside health in a co-located approach.

The post is based in Chertsey but will operate across different areas with a satellite base in Epsom. Surrey offer agile working where you will be able to work flexibly from both the office and home.

About the Role

The Forensic Social Care Team is a small specialist team who, working alongside Health colleagues, focus on care act and part 3 of the Mental Health Act requirements. We work with high-risk service users who are managed under Forensic Outreach Liaison Team, those people subject to part 3 of the MHA, those subject to 37/41 disposal within the criminal justice system and those subject to MAPPA 3. The team works with service users who primarily have mental health needs but also those with learning disabilities and in partnership with the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service (FOLS).

The team manager holds responsibility for day to day running of the team, supporting the team and managing staff to ensure social care business is delivered. The post holder will also work closely alongside health to address social care in this collocated team.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this role, your application will clearly evidence the following:

10. Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other relevant professional qualification
11. Evidence of good understanding forensic mental health agenda, learning disabilities within forensic working, and part 3 of the Mental Health Act.
12. Direct experience of delivering adult social care services and a comprehensive and applied knowledge of adult social care legislation.
13. Experience of successfully managing staff, including managing performance and development and budget management.
14. Sound understanding of personalisation and strengths-based assessments
15. Good evidence of understanding of risk management and MAPPA agenda.

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and as part of this role you will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
