What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Housing Strategy & Enabling Officer REF: Rugby RQ1545019 Pay rate: £24.24 per hour PAYE Working Arrangement: On-site. (You must be able to confirm your ability to attend the office all week.) Basic DBS is needed for this role The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Housing Strategy & Enabling Officer, for approximately 3 months. In this role, you'll be pivotal in developing and implementing housing strategies, enabling new affordable housing, and understanding diverse housing needs. You'll also manage key relationships and negotiations with partners to maximise housing resources and support the strategic housing objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and monitoring of housing strategies, policies, and action plans. Conduct research and assessments to inform the Housing Strategy and Local Plan policies. Engage with local communities and stakeholders to address affordable housing needs. Manage partnerships with Homes England, Registered Providers, and developers to meet community housing requirements. Oversee affordable housing negotiations, ensuring compliance with Section 106 agreements. Promote low-cost homeownership and support affordable housing projects. What the client is looking for: Experience in strategy development and housing policy. Strong knowledge of UK housing, planning, and regeneration policies.
