We are working in partnership with a highly selective, high-performing secondary school in Barnet to appoint a committed Head of Geography for a September 2026 start. This Head of Geography role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Geography seeking a new challenge, or for a high-achieving Geography teacher ready to progress into their first middle leadership role within a setting where academic excellence and high expectations are consistently prioritised.

Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Geography department across KS3-KS5
* Design and deliver a rigorous, knowledge-rich Geography curriculum
* Line‑manage and support Geography teaching staff
* Monitor pupil progress and implement strategies to sustain outstanding outcomes
Ideal Candidate
Essential Criteria
* PGCE Secondary Geography with QTS
* Strong subject knowledge across both Physical and Human Geography
* Proven track record of outstanding classroom practice
Leadership Profile
* Either a current Head of Geography seeking a new challenge, or
* An ambitious Geography teacher ready to step into their first Head of Department role within a high-performing school
