(37 hours per week : flexibility may be required to meet business needs)
Salary: GBP 38,000 per annum
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Renewable Energy Policy Analyst to support low carbon heat initiatives, with a focus on large scale hybrid heat pump trials and energy efficiency projects. Reporting to the Energy Transition Manager, the role centres on managing, collating, and analysing data from heat pump monitoring systems as part of a 100+ home Hybrid Heat Pump Programme, and producing high quality performance and policy reports. You will also contribute to policy analysis, research, stakeholder engagement, consultation responses, demonstration projects, and wider network decarbonisation activity, playing a direct role in the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
Hybrid Heat Pump Programme and Data Analysis
Regularly review monitoring data from the Hybrid Heat Pump Programme to identify issues and trends Prepare regular updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including government departments and regulators Undertake in depth analysis of hybrid heat pump performance to support detailed operational reporting Facilitate independent academic review of programme results Support the presentation of programme outcomes to internal and external audiences
Policy, Research and Insight
Monitor low carbon heat policy developments across Northern Ireland, Ireland, the UK, and Europe Support research projects and structured analysis to inform internal decision making Prepare concise, high quality written briefings for senior managers and directors Support responses to government consultations and engagement with public bodies
Collaboration and Commercial Support
Participate in multidisciplinary forums with internal teams and external partners Support joint academic and industry research projects Contribute to commercial decision making through market research and business development support Provide analytical, research led challenge to operational and strategic colleagues
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Educated to degree level Minimum 3 years experience in a data analyst, research, economist, policy, public affairs, or equivalent role Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills Demonstrable experience producing succinct, structured written briefings Ability to work on own initiative Strong organisational and problem solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Applicants must have the legal right to work in the country of employment on a permanent basis. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Experience collaborating with external partner organisations Demonstrable interest in low carbon heating systems Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
