Business Development & Fundraising Officer£280 per day | 12‑month contract
Location: Birmingham (hybrid / site‑based within Parks & Green Spaces)
We are seeking an experienced Business Development & Fundraising Officer to support the delivery of ie generation,mercialisation and external funding initiatives across Birmingham’s Parks & Green Spaces service. This is a key role within the City Operations Directorate, responsible for identifying, developing and managing franchise opportunities, funding bids and business cases that help maximise investment and ie across a diverse parks portfolio.
Key responsibilities
1. Lead and project‑manage ie generation andmercial opportunities, including franchises such as mobile and static catering, car parking and othermercial schemes.
2. Managepetitive tendering exercises in line with procurement andernance requirements
3. Develop and deliver external funding bids, options appraisals, risk assessments and detailed business plans from concept to delivery.
4. Plan, chair and contribute to stakeholder consultation activities, including meetings with elected members,munity groups and residents.
5. Design and manage consultation exercises (online surveys, questionnaires, email engagement)
6. Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior officers and portfolio holders
7. Monitor budgets and ie performance, taking corrective action where required
8. Act as the key point of contact for enquiries relating to franchise andmercial schemes
9. Produce content for websites and social media, working closely with Marketing and PR colleagues
10. Collate, analyse and present financial and performance data to support decision‑making
About youYou will bring:
11. Proven experience delivering ie generation projects and managingmercial initiatives
12. Strong experience of budget monitoring, forecasting and reporting
13. A track record of producing business plans, funding bids and performance reports for senior stakeholders
14. Excellent organisational, administrative and numeracy skills with strong attention to detail
15. Confidence chairing meetings and engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
16. Strong written and verbalmunication skills
17. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems
19. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays

20. Day rate: £280 per day (Inside/Outside IR35 to be confirmed by the hiring organisation)
21. Contract length: 12 months

23. Base location: Kings Heath, Birmingham (with site visits across the city)
