Overview
The State of Vermont Military Department is seeking a Master Plumber to work at Camp Johnson in Colchester. This role involves plumbing and HVAC work, including design, installation, and maintenance of systems. You will develop, perform, and oversee installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment.
This position performs both routine and complex plumbing and HVAC installation and repair work on all related systems within your assigned area. You will supervise plumbing work and act as a consultant to district staff regarding plumbing systems and coordination.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed at Vermont Military Department facilities. Incumbents may work near hazardous materials, including ammunition and unexploded ordinance, and may encounter harassment or hostile behavior. The role involves snow removal on runways, exposure to loud noises, operating heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions. Some work outside normal hours, including travel and overnight stays, may be required. Physical injury risks are present.
Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Vermont Master Plumber's License
* EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate 608
* Licensed in natural gas and/or propane
* Compliance with plumbing and HVAC codes
* Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
* Certification in natural gas and propane
Special Requirements
Incumbents must obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) after passing a Tier 1 background check, including fingerprints. CAC possession is a condition of employment. Work involves eligibility for a secret security clearance.
