🐦 About the Role

We are excited to be opening Bailey Bird Nursery, our new school-based nursery provision for 3-4 year olds in September 2026. We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inspirational EYFS Teacher to lead the day-to-day practice, provision and learning.

This is a unique opportunity to:

1. Take a lead role in establishing a high-quality nursery alongside the Senior Leadership Team. This will start in the summer term, helping to formulate policies, set-up the environment, design the curriculum and meet with new children and their families, preparing them for their start in September.
2. Work within a supportive primary school team
3. Shape an enabling environment that reflects best practice in EYFS
4. Make a real difference to children and families at the start of their learning journey

With the support of Senior Leaders, you will be the lead professional for the nursery, driving excellent practice and provision.

🌱 Key Responsibilities

5. Lead high-quality EYFS teaching and learning, bringing warmth, energy and a smile that helps children feel safe, settled and ready to explore
6. Create engaging enabling environments and play-rich experiences - whether that means planning purposeful learning or fully committing to an imaginative role you didn’t apply for!
7. Supporting children’s communication, language, personal and social development through strong relationships, reassurance and positive interactions (including singing confidently, if not perfectly)
8. Create a nurturing, inclusive space where every child feels safe, valued and confident and getting messy is all part of the learning
9. Working closely with families to build strong, positive partnerships sharing successes, stories and the occasional glitter-related anecdote from the day
10. Support and guide nursery staff, modelling excellent practice, leading by example and fostering a positive team culture.
11. Observe, assess and plan responsively, always keeping children’s individual needs and next steps at the heart of your practice.
12. Ensuring provision meets statutory requirements and school expectations
13. Contributing to transition into Reception and the wider school community

✨ We Are Looking For Someone Who:

14. Is a qualified teacher (QTS) with strong EYFS knowledge
15. Has secure experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (3–4 year old experience desirable)
16. Has a secure understanding of child development and early learning
17. Is reflective, creative and enthusiastic about the EYFS
18. Can confidently lead practice while working collaboratively as part of a wider team
19. Values inclusion, nurture and high expectations
20. Is organised, proactive and excited by the opportunity to build something new

34. Salary: Teachers Pay Scale - dependant on experience
