The Role:
A sought-after, international architecture and design studio are looking to hire an accomplished Financial Controller to join their team in London on a one year maternity cover contract.
You will be managing the finance team and leading on financial policies, processes and procedures across the organisation. The successful candidate will be working with both the UK and overseas office(s) therefore, the role requires someone with international experience/exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the finance team to ensure all transactions timely and accurately
* Use effective leadership to coach and guide your team
* Develop and maintain relationships with external clients/stakeholders/the studio
* Oversee financial policies and procedures, updating when necessary
* Ensure proactive cashflow management
* Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* FX management
* Lead in the production of year end accounts
* Maintain regular communication with international staff, ensuring accurate and up to date records regulations are adhered to
* Review and ensure accuracy of VAT returns
* Liaise with HR Team regarding salaries and benefits of both UK and overseas staff
* Lead annual insurance reviews and renewals
* Ensure HMRC, secretarial, National Statistics, Companies House other regulations are adhered to and compliant
Key Skills:
* Professional accountancy qualification required (preferably ACA)
* Previous experience leading a finance team
* Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in developing and communicating finance policies, controls and systems across an organisation
* Experience of producing consolidated group accounts with overseas entities
* Project accounting
* International exposure (US/UK/ASIA)
* Foreign exchange management
* Cashflow management
* SAGE proficiency advantageous
