Central Clinic Swansea is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an experienced Mental Health inpatient service. The post supports the development of a 24-hour single point of admission service, with 2 treatment wards and 5 community mental health teams. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary management team to drive service improvement and clinical leadership.

Main duties
* Take overall clinical responsibility for the management of outpatients; oversee Care and Treatment Plans; delegate responsibilities and work with the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide care for adults with mental disorders in an inpatient setting and focus on equipping people with skills for community living.
* Contribute to the development of a 111 telephone triage service and the expansion of crisis care, aligned with national priorities.
* Position based in the City Centre of Swansea, with a short commute to surrounding areas.
You will need to
* Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent.
* Be innovative with the ability to initiate service improvement.
* Have an excellent understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health.
* Have substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and purchaser/provider contractual issues.

Experience and qualifications
Essential:
* Registered with the GMC; licensed to practice.
* On the Specialist Register with GMC as a psychiatrist (Old Age Psychiatry) or eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview, with exit exam passed or equivalent recognition; or EU qualification allowing direct entry to GMC Specialist Register.
* Ability to develop effective working relationships across teams; experience in teaching and training; audit experience.
* Flexible and adaptable with leadership ability; capable of working under pressure and on-call.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and portfolio careers in clinical development, quality improvement, research and teaching.
Desirable:
* Further relevant degrees or teaching qualifications; experience in improvement science and clinical research in mental health.
* Experience with Approved Clinician roles under the Mental Health Act 1983; commissioning of modernised services.
