Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading construction and property development firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Manager .
As Health & Safety Manager, you will take the lead on developing, implementing and maintaining the company's health and safety systems, driving compliance and fostering a proactive safety culture across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will work closely with senior management, site teams, and contractors to ensure best practice in all aspects of HSE performance.
In your new role
Develop, review, and implement safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with current legislation and company standards
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across multiple sites, identifying hazards and driving effective corrective actions
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures
Lead safety training and awareness programmes to enhance competency and engagement across all levels of the business
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, and training
Collaborate with management and staff to embed a culture of continuous improvement and safety-first behaviour
Keep informed of evolving health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across all projects
What you will need to succeed
Experience within a similar Health & Safety role
Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)
Experience with ISO standards and auditing (ISO 14001, 45001)
Strong understanding of relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation
Good communication and influencing skills
IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
Full driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't)
Experience within the Construction or Facilities Management industries
IOSH Membership
NEBOSH Diploma
Train the Trainer certifications
