The Role
As part of the Life Sciences & Research Cost Management team, you'll lead project delivery from inception to completion, managing resources and ensuring that projects meet financial, contractual, and quality objectives. You'll also play a key role in developing and mentoring junior consultants while helping to drive innovation and excellence across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage cost management and quantity surveying projects across the science, research, and technology sectors.
* Develop and monitor project costings, budgets, and financial performance, ensuring value and profitability.
* Manage project delivery from concept through to completion, aligning outputs with client objectives.
* Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members, fostering development and capability growth.
* Ensure compliance with project contracts, delivery parameters, and quality standards.
* Use industry best practice and data analysis to inform project decisions and improve cost management processes.
* Champion the use of Digital Cost Management tools such as CostX, 5D BIM, and benchmarking systems.
* Contribute to service improvement, innovation, and business development initiatives within the teams.
About You:
I'm looking to speak with confident, commercially minded cost consultants who combine technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. You'll bring experience managing complex construction projects within the life sciences, technology, or research sectors and be passionate about delivering excellence for clients.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* MRICS qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
* Proven experience delivering large, complex projects within research, technology, or life sciences.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and mentoring others.
* In-depth cost estimating and benchmarking expertise.
* Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
* Strong understanding of financial control, contract management, and project governance.
* Familiarity with Digital Cost Management, CostX, 5D BIM, and benchmarking tools.
