As LGBTQ+ Project Manager, you will:
1. Recruit members and help shape a safe, inclusive, and empowering group.
2. Manage the Group Leader and oversee the delivery of engaging weekly sessions.
3. Build strong partnerships with LGBTQ+ and learning disability organisations in Leeds.
4. Amplify the voices of members and promote inclusion in community spaces.
5. Monitor project outcomes, member engagement, and report on progress.
6. Contribute to future sustainability and outreach by developing relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and the wider People in Action team to ensure the project reflects our values and delivers lasting impact.
We're looking for a values-driven, passionate, and proactive person with:
1. Lived experience as an LGBTQ+ person (highly desirable).
2. Knowledge of issues facing LGBTQ+ learning-disabled and autistic people.
3. Experience in community development, project delivery, or member-led initiatives.
4. A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.
5. The ability to build strong relationships and work independently.
You may have worked in community projects, advocacy, LGBTQ+ services, or support roles; what matters most is your understanding, compassion, and drive to make a difference.
At People in Action (Yorkshire), we've been working alongside learning disabled and autistic people in Leeds since 1983. We believe in inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred support. We are proud to offer a unique opportunity to lead our re-launched LGBTQ+ support project as Project Manager.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to lead a small but impactful project that makes a real difference. If you're passionate about visibility, safety, and inclusion for learning disabled or autistic LGBTQ+ people, we'd love to hear from you.
